I just did a news article on this,
Mansion.com $1000 Prop bet. Also Mansion will be coming on board as a
PAW sponsor very soon, we are just working out the details.
I have been reading some of the other poker forums and seeing people sceptical about this. In reality YES it is alot of money that Mansion is going to be giving away if they need to refund all the losses.
But let's look at this as savvy poker affiliates for a second and see if we can shed some light on what they are doing, because in reality it is brilliant. Obviously any depositor who even has the means to deposit $1100 into a sportsbook is going to have a higher than normal player value, wouldn't you agree?
But still would that warrant risking $1000 per player, that's alot of
cake if you know what I mean. Granted Mansion is well capitalized, I still don't see this as how the promo is working.
From Mansions standpoint, they have to look at what they are willing to pay to acquire a new depositing player. (Same as how programs figure out CPA's). I'm sure it's not $1000.
So how do you do something like this? very simple. (Disclaimer) I have not talked to our friends at Mansion so I have no idea, I am just specualting.
My guess is that they hedging the bets in a fashion that is exposing them to maybe a few hundred dollars per player. It's almost to simple if you think about it. Let's say they have 1000 people placing these bets. You simply place $1,000,000 to win at one book and $1,000,000 to lose at another book somewhere. Then you are exposed to just the juice at 10% being 100K. That's only $100 per player. Now if Mansion is REALLY smart they have some sort of affiliate deals set up to get a % of losses back with where ever they are placing these bets.
In essence they could be making money on this deal and not losing at all.
There you have it folks. What at first sounds like a huge investment is actually just a great way to bring in tons of new players with high player values.
Now if you are planning on taking advantage of this deal like I have, support us here at
PAW and follow our affiliate link. I know you all hate clicking aff. links, ( I sure do) but why not give something back to the community.
You know we will invest that money right back into this place. I am working on a deal right now for a tournament where a
PAW member is going to win an Aussie Millions seat.
