Default FullTilt - Phishing in the chat boxes

You know, usually I mind my own business and don't say too much about issues outside of the affiliate side of the business, but does anyone else feel that FT seems to not care that they have a major spam problem going on in their chat boxes. This is not a knock on the affiliate department at all, more so whoever is in charge of operations.

They consistently allow bots to post links such as pokerbonuslistings.com & pokercashflow.com all day long in the chat boxes throughout their room. This has been going on for over a year.

Now last night I am playing and someone is posting a phishing scam trying to get players id's, passwords, and neteller info

This is ridiculous that a company as big as FullTilt allows this shit to go on. NEWS FLASH - These spammers are trying to to send business to other rooms such as Titan, now they are trying to clean out your players accounts. You spend millions on marketing each month, go to rent a coder and drop a few hundred on figuring out how to control your chat boxes! If you can censor the word F***, you should be able to easily censor url's.

In my opinion, there is no reason to ever have to post a url in a chat box.

So I guess here is a public request from an affiliate community that collectively sends you hundreds of thousands in rake every month. Please......fix it, it's embarrasing a room the size of FT allows this to continue.

Once again this really has nothing to do with the affiliate department. I like both Warren and Jessica and they are great to work with. This is a problem with their operations.

right, about 3 months ago there was a pretty big change for a couple of us and this was the reason they cited. Which is total BS considering most of these people aren't rakeback guys. It is crazy that they would let this go on.

Hey Beanie, care to elaborate anymore? The reason they cited was that people were spamming the chat boxes offering rakeback or because they were phishing that they needed their player account info ?

I concur 100% that this spamming should seriously be stopped at FTP. Why would you allow this, it has to not only cause players to leave the site but it also has to annoy the players playing to constantly see spam in the chat box like that.

I re ported this a few times when I first started playing there. They replied but I kept seeing the same messages so I gave up.

Yes, I thought I was doing the site a favor. Not so much to stop another affiliate from spamming but actually doing full tilt a favor. These spammers are obviously not trying to get people to sign up to full tilt. They are trying to get players that are already signed up to full tilt to try another room.

All kidding aside, it's an annoyance and I simply can't fathom how FTP has let it go on for SO LONG NOW. Hopefully they will change it soon.

Angry

without being too specific that is always the retort that I have to hear about rakeback. I service over 10,000 customers, all of my customers know how bad spamming boards are, I have offered to help them police their own sites (since many of my players play there and i am speaking about all sites not just FTP). The dirty little secret (which is stupid) is that all of these sites might like the multi millions of dollars we bring them but most of the higher ups would rather cut us out of the picture once they get bigger and can advertise and get all of the money. Only problem is they have to spend 100 million to do it. No problem, they roll like that. They like all of the little guys who have no expectations and such because for the most part they annoy someone beneath them and those people aren't empowered in the first place.

Think about half of the stupid rules that we face on a daily basis and you ask your affiliate manager and the answer is "just because". "Just because" is not an answer, its an admission of guilt. When are these sites going to realize they are in a battle for survival and the most competent of them will win. The answer to that is probably when their 100 million dollar media blitz fails and they realize that the customer is more than just a blinking screen or a complaining affiliate.

Make no mistake about it, this rant was not about FTP, this is overall. i just got done sending a blistering e-mail about 5 players that the site involved admits look like new players but they have to do more investigation. That is the damn problem! If you think they are my players, the player certainly thinks so, how about for once we actually try to make the customer happy.

Rant done, F me

LOL

That pokerbonuslistings guy really pisses me off. I think it would be better to contact his domain provider and report him for spamming or the poker rooms that he promotes (not sure how effective either would be). He's been doing it for months now on FTP because I see him just about every time I log-in which is rarely.

Wow, I just took a look at that forumftp.com site. That is awful and it's sad but people will fall for it, get their money taken, and I highly doubt Fulltilt would own up and reimburse them. Even though I think anything posted in the chat boxes multiple times is their responsibility at that point.

I'm hoping that this is a new phishing tactic but let's hope more of this doesnt start going around or it will really hurt us affiliates.

I hope what Im saying makes any sense at all. Just woke up and it's 4pm.
