Smile What about free Opt-ins?

Wow, great info. First time on this site and amazed at the level of contribution. Here is mine..."advertise to free poker targeted opt-in email lists"

I belong to several poker groups through Yahoo. One day, I received an email requesting information on some local games. I accidently replied to the whole group saying there wasn't much in the area and to check out my site for poker tips and information (I won't post it here 'cause I don't want to advertise to advertisers!)

The next day my site had an additional 25 hits from my town (use google analytics!) Also, I had 10 emails asking me questions about my site, poker, online gambling, etc. I had just stumbled upon a 300+ targeted poker opt-in email list. I'm sure there are 1000's of these inside and outside of Yahoo. Would recommend joining these groups and sending out a "Hey I'm new and have a poker website yourdomain.com and was wondernig if there was any poker action around here?"

Cha-ching! You could probably reach over 100,000 email addresses if you were motivated enough in 24-48 hours.

All interesting info, speaking of Google here is a tool I often use while searching for new affiliates within a targeted market (Poker | Casino | Bingo):

http://www.touchgraph.com/TGGoogleBrowser.html

Type in any of the sites your interested in to see who is linking up and you will notice they are ranked by popularity / strength. This is a quick and easy way to generate leads and form new partnerships with other well established sites.

Woah, thats an awesome tool. Really emphasises the power of linking when you see it on a big web like that.

Everyone should have a look at that, it's really cool.

ThePokerBank, yes definitely a usable tool to research.

One of my techs was studying Google last year and became a bit obsessed. Eventually he downloaded a so called Google hack book from a private forum and learned about the touchgraph. The graph is open source and can easily be found by searching most of the SE's but you have to know about it. I later showed it to two top SEO's and neither of them had ever seen it.

Wow - just spent the last hour or so reading through this thread. Some very good, slightly dodgy and downright crazy ideas ... but a great read.

Quick question though. A lot of the ideas suggested seem to rely on you sneaking around places like libraries or book shops or even bars where they may not particularly welcome you putting your cards all over the place.

So with that in mind, does it make more sense just to put your bonus code on a card rather than your website URL? That way, if there are any problems then at least it can't necessarily be traced back to you.

Also, what kind of thickness is generally used when making business cards?
