Card Player Rep

I just became a card player rep, now I will go to all the FREE poker tourny's around and offer free card player stuff as prizes. There are a lot of tournys (www.freepokerOK.com), I am going to try to get people to sign up with cardplayer mag (only getting $5 per signup) but also include my card and hand out my cards to everone playing poker. Does this sound good to you? I get free stuff from card player ever issue to give away, along with a lot of mags to give out. I figure the people only really interested in poker will give me there e-mail to recieve card player info, so I can give them my card and talk to them about signing up to play online. What do you think?

Be careful not to step on the toes of the Casino or cardroom you are giving the magazine out in. It could be devastating to your affiliate business. Card Player is looking to gain clients, not promote you. Just keep that in mind and you will be ok. Just some things to think about. Otherwise, I think it will be good if you work it right.

Ya, I'm also a campus rep for CP. They pay you lousy, $5 is like 15% of the revenue, but you get great perks. They give me free subscription, free T-shirts, and a ton of other free shit. What I do is host my own "charity poker tournaments" and I have sponsors donate prizes (that includes CP Mag) and I give away a copy to every player.

I am an affiliate for most large online poker rooms, so i just have them send me flyers, business cards, etc with my bonus code on them and I give each player in the "guaranteed prize tourney" a "free poker package". It's hard work, but it sure is fun and you can invite your card shark friends to the tournament to take the prizes, it's like a free poker tournament for everybody where everybody wins! I have it advertised on the home page of www.duluthpoker.com right now.

Hey that reminds me... I need some help with a web form for newsletter signups. Can anybody offer their advice about a FREE way to do this? I need the web entry fields to make an entry into my online MySQL database.

ok guys what i am going to ask you all is that i can get a magazine and everything real cheap. When i say cheap i mean it real cheap. What I need is writters. Or some people wanting to get in on this. Say we have 5-10 of us we all put our bonus codes for different poker sites. Just need a name. Plus we can have it 15-30 pages with ads and some poker news to start out. My email is Mpad1979@sbcglobal.net if you want to take more about this. I think there is enough brains on here that we could make a nice magazine.

Good Idea, but could you be more specific?

To do something as large scale as this you would need to write up a business plan as well as a marketing plan. You cannot just make a magazine and expect to sell. You need to spend hundreds of thousands to market the magazine. After all, magazines are simply articles surrounded by marketing, which in turn pays for the magazine production and produces revenue.

I would be interested in something like this, and you are right, we do have a lot of talent here. We would need a website, writers, printing press, marketing department, payroll (of some type), and we need to split up the bonus codes properly.

Lots of work, but would it really be worth it?

Will do! I'll be letting him know how my tournament goes. I'm sure I'll sell a couple of subscriptions so I can get paid my whopping $5 per year I sell, lol!
