Official Statement From FullTilt
I just got an email from FullTilt regarding their position on U.S. players. If Party, Stars, and Paradise were to all stop accepting U.S. players, FullTilt will literally explode overnight. Here is the statement:
Quote:
As we are sure you are all aware, the U.S. Congress recently passed new legislation that may eventually have a significant impact on the online poker industry.
While the intent of this new legislation is to eventually prevent the transfer of funds from U.S. banks to online gaming sites, we assure you that there will be no short-term impact on our business. In fact, unlike many of our competitors, we have no intention of abandoning our U.S. customers. We plan to continue our normal operations while the regulators, the banking industry and, very likely, the judicial system hammer out all of the details regarding this legislation.
Most importantly, we want you to know that all monies entrusted to Full Tilt Poker from our customers remain completely safe and secure, and that all players and affiliates will be able to transfer funds to and from Full Tilt Poker as usual, using all of our normal payment processors. In short, while the long-term outlook for the industry is likely to change in some fashion, Full Tilt Poker will continue to provide its players and affiliates with the best online poker experience in the world.

slow down there buddy, I don't completely disagree with you but FTP might be the most exposed at the moment given thier ownership situation. If FTP announced that some Sheik bought them, ironically, I would feel a lot more comfortable.

Full Tilt situation
I'm a longtime lurker who has been working for a few months towards launching some affiliate websites. I've blogged for about 18 months now and have a few advertisers and decent content, so I'm not necessarily completely new to the game.
As I've been looking at how to make the best of this altered and uncertain time for online poker it seemed to me that there are certainly a few opportunities to be exploited to bring "refugee" players onto new sites.
With Full Tilt it seems like going the CPA route with them, due to their somewhat vulnerable position as a US company, over the next few months would be the smartest path to take. Due to their stated goal of remaining operational in the US market they should be attractive to new players.
As a new affiliate looking at their situation, do you think that makes sense?

They're not owned by a US company on paper
Do some research on TiltWare. They are the software provider and marketing firm for FTP (read: they get "paid" a shitload to develop software, run it, and market FTP).

no, they are owned by U.S. citizens. This is a WSEX scenario, the question is who opts for the island imprisonment like Haeyden Ware or who opts for the Jay Cohen drop the soap route. Unless they sell, if they sell, they could be the biggest.

Right, but the "Front" for the whole thing is TiltWare, which is a "legal" company at the moment.
