Antigua and Barbuda Press Conference on Monday
| Antigua and Barbuda to hold press conference Monday | The egaming jurisdiction of Antigua and Barbuda will be holding a press conference on Monday to attempt to explain the inconsistency and inapplicability of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
| A number of leading egaming operators and lawyers are heading over to Antigua and Barbuda at this very moment to organise and formulate their response on Monday. Kaye MacDonald, director of gaming for Antigua and Barbuda, will head proceedings to explain how the new US law contravenes 2005 World Trade Organisation rulings against the US and is blatantly protectionist towards non-US operators.
Although it is an extremely long shot, the hope is that with this press conference Antigua and Barbuda and the operators affected by the UIGE act will put enough pressure on President Bush so that he doesn’t sign it and make it law. George W. Bush is expected to sign it Thursday or Friday next week.
