Exclamation WARNING: MoneyBookers /ePassPorte Scam!

Just received a VERY well made email from somebody claiming to be Moneybookers.com. So convincing that I even posted over at CAP because I didn't know who the one sending the money was.

When I clicked the "accept" link, this is what I was brought to:

oh my god, I phoned moneybookers about this because I thought I actually got 275.00 from someone. If you hover your mouse over the link and then look at the bottom, you can see the link is, redirect to.... Watch out for it, I think it is something to gather info.

I also got the epassporte password one, but Instead of resetting it I just went to the site. Im not sure what happens when you click on the link. Has anyone done it?

I would never click on a link inside of any email. That is how my neteller/yahoo email got hacked into. Just another reason not to leave money just hanging out in neteller. They won't refund you. It's also a good idea to set a max instacash deposit limit to something very low. Once you click the link they can usually hack into your email account and then you're screwed. It's pretty crazy what those guys can do.

Hey chern if you are using yahoo email I'd delete any important information in your emails especially if you have passwords laying around. It would also be a good idea to change your passwords.

Just got the Neteller one as well. Who the fuck is doing this and how can we find out who we need to make a noose for?

These are some of the best that I've seen... period. Certainly not an amateur.

I forwarded the mail to Neteller. Hopefully they will do something about it, especially knowing how secure they have been known to be. One thing is for sure, you can secure the service as much as you want, but you cant secure the clients from their own stupidity.

Pull the IP's off of them and send them to neteller, moneybookers and even run them through some forums DB.

I got the Neteller and ePassporte ones. I got excited at first, then thought, wait, I don't promote Party Poker. Hovered over the link and saw the xwww.tamilstar.com/......./.../../ link

Checked the domain info... maybe we should give Mr. Ganesh a call or spam his email with phishing scams:

Jayalingam , Ganesh
K-48,Anna Nagar East
Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600102
IN

Domain Name: TAMILSTAR.COM

Administrative Contact, Technical Contact:
Ganesh, Jayalingam jelingam@YAHOO.CO.UK
tamilstar.com
137,tooting high street
GB
0181-8770638 fax: 0181-8770638

I bet this person is probably lurking the PAW boards, because it looks like they are targetting affiliates. I will forward my email on to the abuse dept. Here is the contact: abuse@epassporte.com
