Default RaketheRake.com affiliates going after existing players

I hope someone form RaketheRake browses here. You're affiliates are targeting exisiting players.

A player was advertising rakeback on facebook, and contacted me telling me that I could get a certain percent at a bunch of rooms he listed.

I reply with....

I have accounts on Full Tilt, Absolute, Bodog, UB and Stars
already...however Id like to get on rakeback, can you let me know how
I can do it.

He replies back....

you can just create new accounts with those poker sites. If you do end up making new accounts feel free to let me know and i'll refer you to them and then we can both make money off those referrals as well.

Then sends me this message as well...

f you want to make new accounts sign up at this site first raketherake.com and be sure to enter my referral number ----------.
Then just click on the poker accounts you wish to sign up with and make new accounts straight from raketherake. I believe you have to make sure the poker sites are not installed on your computer before hand so you might have to uninstall them. This is the best site to get the maximum rakeback possible and you should consider yourself losing money if your not using it. Good luck and dont forget to ender that referall number to make us both some money!

I know poaching happens, but this shit is just gonna get even worse when these rakeback sites have affiliates poaching as well. RaketheRake, do something about your affiliates!

Ugh, that sucks. Did he mention any sites in particular where they could make 'new accounts'?

Can you post a contact link for raketherake here? Maybe we should all contact them letting them know what is going on and our collective feelings on the issue.

Isn't such activity against the TOC of many cardrooms though? You can't recruit players that already have an account for many reasons.

It seems to me that the industry is reverting back to the Wild Wild West days. Instead of lobbying more effectively and planning for the long term you have alot of sites that are going for short term money. To be honest, as lucrative as this industry is, I almost can't blame them.

The short term versus long term dynamic has always existed, although there does seem to be more reason for it to be more pronounced now.

IMO, basically if you are a longtermer affiliate, you should focus on the longetermer cardrooms. If you see your universe in this business as a few months, then you should focus on the quick buck sites that won't be around for the long haul but offer a quicker fix. The big cardrooms hate poaching as multiple accounts will always be a headache and because they are usually getting ripped off by double bonus leeches.

Hi Justin, we were alerted to your post by a.n.other and are here to address.

Georgia, we do care, and without going into details and a long discussion, we are one of the biggest advocators of seeing this market regulated and rogue affiliates/sub affiliates weeded out.

Justin, we do not ecnourage or condone any affiliate to promote the option of opening a new account for an existing player in order to get rakeback. Please send us a link or the referral number if you have it and we will address it immediately.

Kind regards

RakeTheRake

Hey Jessica,

Thanks for stopping by and addressing this. I had spoken with Karim briefly in Amsterdam and I do believe that you guys are not in the business to poach from other affiliates. I'm sure you're job is just as hard as ours now with the fierce competition and the enormous amount of rooms pulling out of the U.S.

I'm sure I speak for everyone here at PAW, both rakeback and non rakeback affiliates when I say Thank-you for keeping your affiliates in check.

Typically the people poaching like this regardless if they are tied to a big provider like RTR or independant are short termers in this industry and will not be around very long.

No problem at all Jeremy.

As you'll remember from Karim's (and Ronny's) presentation in Dam, there is nothing we would like more than to see rooms and networks take a tougher stance on rogue rakeback affiliates.

And we personally will endeavour to keep any of our players/affiliates in check regards spamming or giving out misleading information.

Kind regards

RakeTheRake
