I wanted to get some input as to if people have had more or less success with
affiliate programs when they've used a splash page between their links/banners
and the vendor, or a direct link. Obviously if there is more to be offered, a
splash page/website is going to allow the flexibility, but in most instances,
would a direct link provide a better return? I'm wondering if the less "clicks"
the better. <_<

Thanks for your input.

I think splash pages are good if your just looking for a quick gateway to the site your promoting. On the flipside if you simply forwarded a domain (like many people do for Party) you may not be able to promote to a certain niche. just my thoughts.

Have any of you other guys had any success with forwarding domains?

Forwarding domains is great if you can register a typo for the domain name in question. I am sure domains like partypokr.com and partypokre.com get a lot of hits. I have had some success doing this for full tilt poker. There are a lot of variations for that domain name you can make.

register a typo
Do the poker rooms frown upon this? Seems like they might. Good idea, though.

jschell

Why would we frown on an Affiliate registering a typo? It could well be lost traffic, so may as well have an Affiliate pick it up otherwise. Many of the sites do it themselves, but there is no way they can pick up all possible combinations...

Is there any way to track hits to forwarded domains? All of the stat trackers that I know of have to have actual hosting or pages.
