Exclamation Help with linking redirect

To help find my 301's can I just add a link to the file ie. wwwdotmysite.com/htaccess.txt

Will this be enough or should I list everything that is in my file?

i'm not sure i understand your question, but linking to your .htaccess file isn't going to work. add this in your .htaccess file and change to fit your situation:

Redirect Permanent /previous-directory/or-filename.html /new-directory/or-filename.php

the above should be pretty self explanatory

also... if you're looking to find errors you can use xenu's link sleuth; it's a great little free ap that would be perfect for helping you through a site's directory or filename transition:
http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html

hope this helped

Thanks for taking a peek here is one part of it.

The site had one redirect on some of the pages already like I said in earlier posts it went from _ to -

I am now putting all pages into categorized subfolders which means those pages that had teh redirect are now added aswell. You see.

Code:
redirect 301 /old_page.html http://www.pokerriveronline.com/bankroll-management.html\par
redirect 301 /old_page_1.html http://www.pokerriveronline.com/bankroll-management.html\par
\par
redirect 301 /old_page.html http://www.pokerriveronline.com/bankroll-management.html\par
redirect 301 /old_page_1.html http://www.pokerriveronline.com/articles/bankroll-management.htm\par
\par

Make sure your htaccess file is called

.htaccess

not

htaccess.txt

notice there's no .txt at the end and a "." at the beginning.

I am using the same htaccess that I had on site. When I first did the cide that was not included but was somehow added........does any of that make sense.

Really I don't know why...it was there originally and all was well so I just followed the same format.
