Is there really a difference? I don’t remember seeing anything that differentiates a code between as a sign-up code or deposit code when creating one.
That said...I have a friend who started playing at Party before I became an affiliate. They didn’t use an affiliate code when they created their account or when they made a deposit, though they may have used a deposit code from Party.

Am I to understand( thread, http://partyriches.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1178 ) that if they uninstall the party software, reinstall from a link on my website, and make a new deposit using their current account, I will be credited with them as a player?
I Am not talking about hijacking anyone, just getting players that may have sign-up already, but without any affiliate contact (though possibly with a code directly from party).
Make sense?

Set up a unique code and have your friend try it. Then you'll know if it works.

Or ask your affiliate manager.

THere is a lot of talk of this being simply a rumor, but it is fact true.

If a player signed up through the website (and not through an affiliate), ask that player to uninstall the PP software and re-install it with your affiliate link.

I confirmed this with 2 supervisors, Shaun Measley being one of them

Hate to play devil's advocate, but doesn't this kind of go against the "Don't try and acquire existing PartyPoker.com players" warning in the Don't Try It area  of the affiliate section? And wouldn't you think they'd be looking out for this kind of thing? Or am I just being needlessly paranoid, again?

Thats kind of what i was thinking, but then i think what they mean when the say "aquire" is getting a player to cancel their current account and open another account under you.
It seems, if i understand correctly, that you can just attach yourself to current players with no affiliation connections if you can get them to redownload from your link.
