Default Affiliate Programs - please separate PLAYER ACCOUNTS from AFF ACCOUNTS!

Getting tired of HAVING TO HAVE a player account in order to get PAID for affiliating!

More tired of HAVING TO HAVE the payment paid to the PLAYER ACCOUNT in order to cash out!

Please get some alternate forms of payment, and separate our playing lives from our business lives!

Good Idea! I sometimes blow my hard earned cash on poker or casino games because it is just sitting in my player account!!!

Agree 100 % , This is the one thing i hate the most about certin programs , especially when i blow it at blackjack before having a chance to withdraw .

I purposly banned myself from many online casinos as i like to gamble too much . So i hate having to have a player account at certin poker rooms that allow blackjack , and tempt me to play .

I think that this might be part of the plan: Get the affiliate promoting and making money, and then get the affiliate player to blow the wad playing. Having all your commissions transfer into a player account is quite a crafty plan.

This doesn't affect me too much because I play very little. My main job is to hook up players with what they are looking for and to be paid for my efforts. What I hate about the player account payment option is the multi-step process to get paid my commissions:
  1. transferring the commissions from affiliate account to player account,
  2. requesting that a payment be sent from the player account,
  3. having to wait long periods of time for a check to me snail-mailed to me (often times with an added fee).
I've recently been using AffiliateSpeedpay as a payment option on a couple of my affiliate accounts. I like that there are no fees, so what I earn is what I keep. And I like having the Visa ATM debit card at my fingertips. It comes in very handy. But keeping track of my expenses on the AffiliateSpeedpay web-based interface is quite difficult. It doesn't track income and expenses real-time, and sometimes there seem to be discrepancies in the amounts.

Bottom line is that I have yet to find a perfect payment option for receiving my affiliate commissions.

Well I'm sure that does factor into the decision AJ, and surely there are many affiliates who play their affiliate money or at least part of it. It's not that they want you to blow it there, actually they would prefer you not blow it and play on to create more rake for them.

I've read a few articles including some stuff on here which strongly discourages you from playing any of your affiliate money. This presumes you're a net loser though and many affiliates have no problem making money at poker so it would come down to your playing at sites you would normally play at or playing at other sites which may not be as profitable for you.

In the end though the argument can be made that the room offers many withdrawal options and if they put it in your account you're able to use any of them. So if they just told you to choose from among these from your affiliate account versus your player account then you'd have the same options and may actually be offered less, which is actually the case usually. So you're no worse off and probably better off having it in the account, as long as you can control yourself. It's easier for them to admin the player account payments by the way.

Now in terms of things like Affiliate Speed Pay, well there's nothing stopping programs from adding these things and it's obviously not something they would add to player options but it's a matter then of convincing them to do it and if enough affiliates did then this is an option. They could then give you these affiliate specific options or choose to have it in a player account. This is what PAW does, I take the player account option simply because I can't get an account at Speed Pay and can't get a wire through Moneybookers, on the part of their stupidity in both cases I might add, but I can get it from FT to my bank account in a couple days through Instadebit so that works best for me. In other cases as well I'll take the player account any day over the other options but it depends on the options. Sometimes they don't have a player account option and I wish they did. In some cases you just have the player account but there's usually some fairly easy options, that is unless you live in the U.S. but even then there are usually things you can set up without having to wait for a check.

So it's really a matter of telling the programs what you prefer and especially how important this is to you and if there's enough demand for it they will probably make it so.

>> AffiliateSpeedpay as a payment option on a couple of my affiliate accounts. I like that there are no fees,

there are various fees, not FREE at all

Bank Wire or Cheque are the only options for me.
Just wish all programs offer these two basic options.

Affiliate United offer Bank Wire,
but they say they cannot wire to my country,
very strange and odd.
As ALL other programs can do it this way.

And they do not sent cheque directly,
besides they do not allow me to open a player account to receive affiliate commission,
so i do not promote them because they cannot pay me.

Yes, I misspoke. The fees I was referencing are for making the transfer of funds from the affiliate program to the AffiliateSpeedpay account. If I request a payment from Absolute Poker, for instance, and I want the check to come as quickly as possible, I have to pay Absolute $25 USD. With AffiliateSpeedpay, my commissions go directly from the my affiliate account to my Speedpay account, with no money deducted.

You are right though: once the money is in the AffiliateSpeedpay account, there are all sorts of fees to access your money. For me, this is fine since I'm trying to minimize the amount of money I charge to my credit cards to pay for affilaite marketing activities. I'd rather pay the $0.75 per transaction than to keep piling up debt on the credit cards. Much cheaper for me in the long run.

Thanks for your response.

I presume you're from the U.S. since you're getting checks - $25 is pretty crazy. Have you checked out ePassporte? You can get a debit card, they take Americans, and you can set up withdrawals through AB and UB as well as other sites.

Huh? ePassporte has not been available for Americans for some time now.
