Default Chipleader trip to Costa Rica

I am still popping up pictures and stuff to facebook. I do have 2 videos up on my blog (which I assume most people know the URL since it is at the bottom).

Was a really great trip. There were a lot of rakeback affiliates, so I think Nick and Andreas felt a bit alone. All and all it was a great group and we had a great time.

UB and Absolute isn't particularly shy about telling affiliates that they know they are climbing uphill at the moment but personally I have always thought highly of the chipleader team and this trip did nothing to change that.

There was a little discussion about the cheating stuff but I believe them completely when they say those people are no longer in charge. The people that are in charge are very impressive group. I think most people were impressed at the way Pete and Will seem to be attacking things going forward.

All in all I didn't really expect much from the trip but some good things happened. The communication went well and we got to meet a lot of people, which is always fun.

The one thing about hanging out with the best of the best is it really pushes you to try to be harder. That might be the thing that I will carry with me the longest from this trip. There are a lot of affiliates doing some really cool stuff at the moment.

Josem fro 2+2 doesnt rate them

A conference doesnt mean, make a few extra deals and take the piss.

Chipleader failed to track their subs, they failed to track their players. That was before the cheating scandal came out.

Lets Honor chipleader rise?

Cheers beanie hi flyer

TY, for the 8th post honor.

2+2 has been around a while. Maybe annie duke loves chipleader.

Your post smelt of payment. Nice 638th post beanie.

Nice innuendo prop. No wonder the industry needs a reshake or completely shut down.

Example :

We support know cheats, what does that say about us?
What does that say about the set up of the industry?
Why are the USA officials not attacking this point?
Maybe they are looking for something sticky

If I said what I wanted to say in this thread I would almost certainly be banned. Only posting a picture and still keeping silent took a lot of restraint that I did not believe I had in me. I'm with ya though BootyCraze and am most certainly not for sale for any price.

lol, because I went I sold out, interesting analysis. What is interesting is that I take it both ways, one of the UB guys said I was very negative for bringing up what I thought to be obvious to almost everyone.

Whatever, I just thought the people that went would want to see their pictures. I will say that I do believe that Pete and his team are the good guys and a lot of the stuff that has gone on recently (aside from the cheating which is being dealt with) is not likely intentional but of course given their past UB/Absolute will not get the benefit of the doubt and maybe they shouldn't. I know for me I make judgements based on the people that I know, the people I know at UB/AP are good people that unfortunately got saddled up by some bad people.

Feel free to flame me endlessly. It was just mentioned by Greg in one of the recent posts that I could update people on the trip. So that is what I did.

Yes, that was why I was surprised with the thread title.

With so many sites out there, why stick by one with a dodgy record? Change in management does not mean change in ownership

Again to ownership. Trust value has gone in an industry where hidden cards are expected. They failed to keep up their end of the bargain with lower level affiliate. They failed to return their charity scam from the WSOP.

No flaming on you. Only chipleader, but you should have at least ommited them from your dictionary.

My business isn't likely similar to yours. The way mine works my customers get to choose where to go, I benefit no matter where they go. If you are under the opinion that all 700 people that work for UB/AP are bad people I can tell you from years of experience that they are not.

There is no question that they have handled many situations badly recently. They know this.

But I will absolutely tell you that if a customer tells me that they want to play at UB/AP, I would not discourage them from doing so. I don't feel from what I know and what I have seen over the course of years that they are an institution that is designed to cheat its customers. I believe that a few rogue people did some bad things and the good people handled it poorly.

Time will tell how this plays out. I think all of your feelings are justified and my post was not meant in any way to suggest that everything had changed and was completely better at UB/AP. To the contrary virtually every affiliate on the trip was very open about their distaste for what went on and the amount of good will it will take towards the customers to get back in the good graces of the online poker community.

Like I said, only time will truly tell.
