Good questions. Here's my opinion:

1 - I will have to check with a couple of AMs and I will post what I cna find. I know not all rooms would be able to do this.

2 -That won't be an issue. If you go to a room and tell them you have 5K and want to bring them players from a bunch of different sites, they'll want to be part of the deal. In fact, what the room is willing to put in will greatly influence our choice of the room. I think we bring something very interesting to them, and they'll have to compete with each other to offer something very interesting to us.

3 - Personally, I will go CPA route on this and I would suggest restricting access to new depositiors tracked to your sites. If you have 4 events each having a $5 or $10 buy-in, and the only way to get in is to deposit via your tracker, then you should easily cover your expenses and make a profit at the end of the day.

A new room is certainly something to consider, as long as they can bring their share to the table.

Let's setup a group chat in MSN. Post or PM me your MSN account and your time zone/availability. I'll try to coordinate something for this week.

it would ne nice if every affiliate who wants to join says here i am and post hes location so that we know if us-friendly is needed or not

if someone ask hes am for spending some extra cash to or tournamnets it looks surely better if he can tell the am how many new affiliates he could bring in for that

for a chat we can use the chatroom at my new site (doesn`t work under IE at the moment but i think everyone has firefox)

Maybe I've been over thinking this with the "fair share" thing.

I simply propose that who ever wants to jump in puts in the same amount as everyone else, and promote it how ever you want. It's simpler. I'm thinking that the amount to put in would be in the $200-$400 range. It will balance out anyway because if you can't bring in enough traffic to make it worth your while, then you won't be interested.

Once I get a list of who's willing to commit to the idea and put in their share, then I'll be in a better position to make a deal with a poker room. I would like to advertise this in October and run the tourneys in November to make sure the winners get their Ipods or what ever the prizes will be in time for xmas.

i think 500 $ would be ok so we have a big Pricepool and it really doesn`t matter how big or small an affiliate is because we only need 3-4 Players who qualyfied for a CPA and than we all have a good promotion with no costs

I've PMed everyone who expressed an interests. If anyone else wants in, PM me your top 5 picks for poker rooms and up to what ammount you'd put in (everyone puts in equal shares).

I'll collect some data, talk to some AMs and PM you back a proposal, or we'll do a chat session if we can.

Cake Poker, Stars, FTP, PKR? (Cake Preferrably)

I'm in for whatever everyone else wants.

As much as I would love for this to be a CPA type thing... I think the reality is a lot of rooms won't go for something like that. We need to prove to them that we can bring quality players that will continue to play and be profitable for the room. Possibly a hybrid type deal could work better, but if a room is willing to do it on a CPA deal then I probably wouldn't argue. The only thing is if we do go the CPA route, then I wouldn't expect them to put up any money for this.

Here are some things that should be considered:
- Requirements for players to gain access to tournaments (they should probably be required to earn a small number of player points in the week of the freeroll to be eligible to play)
- What things we will do to provide value to the room
- Prizes... 1 big prize or one decent one + several smaller ones / should it fluctuate based on # of players
- Partnerships - Possibly we can look to work with one of the poker training sites so that we work on getting these players to be winning poker players - thus creating higher value to the room
- Rules... I am sure we are all smart enough, but if someone stars going around spamming sites it could jeopordize this for the rest of us.
- # of affiliates - Will we restrict this to just a few, or open this to anyone who can join at any time.

I am sure there are some other things to consider.

I think the next step is to start laying this out in a proper business plan. We will need a list of names of everyone who would be interested in doing this, along with the list of sites they will be promoting this.

Marius... maybe you could set a time where we can have a group chat on Skype or something and discuss this more in detail. Barcelona is just a few weeks away and that could be a good time to look for a potential room to work with.

Default I'm interested if its a buy-in etc

hi all

sorry came into this a bit late (dogs spaying didnt got a smoothly as hoped - panic visits to vet etc)

I'd be interested in the idea

IMHO it seems the nub of it to pool resources to get a bigger prize pool than 1 affiliate would be able to put up - to convert players or get new RMP's

so afaiks it should be a buy-in of some sort (not really that keen on a freeroll personally), open only to players tracked to x number of participating affiliates

and crucuially (maybe I'm missing something) but I dont see why each affiliate cant work on CAP / rev share for their trackers as they see fits them best

eg. say cake (I do rakeback) another might want theirs on CPA or whatever their current strategy / agreement ... that wouldnt matter

doesnt it just boil down to say 10 affiliates chipping up $500 a piece into their player account / affiliate account ... then the room draws down the 10% of prize pool each (total $5k) for say a $5 buy-in ?

and then we all get on and promote that game to our players / members etc anyway we can

for one affiliate they break even on 5 RMP's on CPA (and they're happy with 10 new signups) or another affiliate is happy to have converted / signed up 20 RMP's on rakeback taking a longer term view the players will have +value over 6 months ??

If there were 10+ affiliates up for each "event" out of a pool of say 20 that generally liked the idea this would work well IMHO

If its say a 10 way split for a $5 buy-in with $1000-$5000k added, (individual cost $100-$500) only tracked players from affiliates involved at a US friendly site or any of the good sites generally then I'd definately be up for trying it ... if it works off of things the poker room can deliver rather than prizes that have to be organised like ipods etc this sounds easiest

AFAIKS its just a variation on the pokerlistings big freerolls for their signsup only spliting the costs between 10 smaller than pokerlistings affiliates ... everyone would be a winner

just my 2p

cheers scrawnybob
