I know the course is good because I have it, and it's great for beginners and seasoned people in SEO. And it's a complete education in it.

what is the catch ? Do you have to receive a magazine every month or something?

In order to get the course free, you have to agree to receive a free issue of their monthly newsletter: The Net Effect, but they make it perfectly clear that if you cancel before the trial is up, you can keep the stuff for free.

These guys are legit. They are being up front about the continuity, and not trying to hide it. They just hope they provide enough value with the free stuff that you won't want to quit.

The first magazine is free - after that it's about $40 a month I think, but you can cancel at any time.

yup and you get to keep the $497 course, which is not just a fluffed BS course either. It's 2 DVD's, the first is just an audio, but really good.

The second is a course that takes you from the boring beginning (how search engines work, what spiders are, etc), to monetizing good rankings to their fullest.
