Default Poker SEO For Ask.com

Most poker SEO's focus exclusively on optimizing for Google, but a balanced business plan won't put all of its eggs in that one basket. With that in mind, who optimizes for Ask.com? Who does poker seo for Ask.com?

What aspects of poker SEO for Ask.com are important?

What are the differences between doing poker SEO for Ask.com and doing poker SEO for Google.com?

What kind of tips and strategies can you offer related to poker SEO for Ask.com?

If you're not optimizing for Ask.com, that's cool, but I'd like to avoid a string of, "I don't both optimizing for Ask.com because they don't send enough traffic to be worth messing with" type posts.

Anyway, what you can you share about poker SEO for Ask.com?

Well, the first thing is to submit your sitemap to ask.com. A lot of people are suprised that you can do this since there are no actual "clicker her to submit a sitemap" links or naything like it. This is done by visiting the following URL:

http://submissions.ask.com/ping?site...om/sitemap.xml

I beleive it only accepts sitemaps that are named sitemap.xml and located at the root of the public html folder. If your sitemap is named diferently or located elswhere, there are ways to fool ask.com by creating redirects in your .htaccess.

LOL - well done.

The Ask.com search engine is powered by technology that was originally called Teoma. I don't know of any specific resources for Ask.com or Teoma.com SEO right now, but this article from Aaron Wall covers some of the basics of how to optimize for them:

Hey Randy,

I'm confused... Why even Ask ? (<= wow, B minus joke !)

I would also look at submitting RSS feeds to ASK.com.

For example, it is believed that submitting your RSS feed to Yahoo aids in website discoverability.

I believe they have this option for ASK as well.

I haven't really optimized for it, but I remember reading awhile ago that having content in the format of a question helps. Like "What is the best poker room to play at?" etc.

Excellent tip.

I did a search for "roulette" this morning. In the top right, there's a clickable link to "491 questions about roulette". When I click on that, I'm taken to a list of results which consist of nothing but pages with questions in the title tag.
