Hey All,
When the big G started suggesting in the search bar a while back there was a mixed reaction ranging from 'death of the long tail' through to 'meh'... here is the initial thread: http://www.pokeraffiliateprograms.co...earch-bar.html We have now had some time to analyse the results so I was wondering whether this changes / re-enforces / calms (!) anyones view of the effects?? I noticed a large uptick in some of the suggestions I already ranked for... and have adjusted my on page factors a little to better fit the exact words of searches that were fairly close. All in all a positive for me. Cheers, Mark

If anything is going to cause the "death of the longtail", it's going to be Google's supplemental index. More relevant pages don't rank because they don't have enough PageRank, while less relevant pages rank just because they're on big, trusted websites with more PageRank.
I haven't seen any differences in traffic since Google Suggest, but I had always used it as a keyword research tool anyway. |
