Default Bid For Position Directories

Does anyone here use "bid for position directories" as a linkbuilding or traffic technique? Has anyone had any success with a bid for position directory?

I've never actually paid any money for this stuff but here's an example of why not. Check out http://www.bidforpositiondirs.com/, the top rated site for this KW. Now if you go $15 you can get on their home page PR1 which isn`t theme related at all of course. If you go $5 or $10 you can get on a sub page PR0 which is theme related. Not a good use of money even a small amount. Now there may be some better deals out there but I doubt it`s anything that the money would be wisely spent on.

Hi,

I think they are positive.....We have near our own 60 directories and near 10 are quality bid directories. If i see the volume people buy links, i will see they help.

One more advantage is that people make bid to stay on home page link which helps in PR and keyword rankings!

I've got an open mind here so do you have some we can take a look at?

If they are buying them I'm sure it's great for you People will also spend money on pretty much anything. I actually never spend on links but if there was something that looked worth doing I might. I'd need both related and PR though and reasonably priced - not too much to ask especially since I can get this for just a link on a sub page I don't care about

I was never interesting in anything that requires bidding, except for ebay where I know I can get a good price for something. I never paid for links since I own a serios site network and most of the time the sites promote each other aside of some good link exchanges. If I was to pay for a link, I'd really like a fixed price. It easier for me to keep track of my budget this way. I don't want to spend more on a link place, when I can get the same thing in another site, without having to bid.
