Arrow Getting your pages indexed quicker?

Anyone have some tips or secrets to this?

If your writing daily content then you would want the articles to be indexed as soon as possible to start getting searches.

You're using Wordpress? Make sure you have the Google Sitemap plugin, and set it(I think its automatic) to ping google after every update - I generally have articles indexed within 30 minutes of posting them.

ya submit to social bookmarking sites like reddit or digg. instant high PR links and Google will find your page much faster.

Don't overdo this though and be sure to submit good content, or you'll be flagged and/or banned for spam

sorry i misunderstood...i thought you were asking how to have your site indexed faster...the above is a good way to have it indexed quickly for the first time. it is also a good way to have any one page indexed quickly but you don't want to be auto-submitting every article, they will ban you pretty quick.

as for tips to have certain areas of your site indexed more often, the key is for them to be worthy of being indexed more often. this often comes from other people linking to them (as in sharing your stories) or you providing high quality and consistent content.

i read on this site somewhere that the secret to SEO is there is no secret to SEO...and truer words have never been spoken. just create quality content and google will figure it out eventually.

1. linking to a regularly crawled site seems to work (social bookmarks, digg, etc)

2. adding a link from your own site from a regularly crawled site and following it from your site. (seems to work for me)

3. Use the same page for your latest news then replace it the next time you have a new article, give the old content its own page & have a recent news section at bottom for links.
