the fact you stepped up to explain that goals and idea's can be worked through you is appreciated. (cheesy is a matter of perception - thank you for adding to it.

Default Offline?

Well, even though my bread-and-butter is email marketing, I think offline marketing is a huge opportunity that's overlooked right now.

Everybody focuses on online, but there's a heap of possibilities in the real world. Putting flyers in men's clothes stores. Offering to host freeroll tournaments for community groups, sports clubs, offices etc.

One idea I really must find time to pull off is renting a stand in a shopping mall for the day. It only costs about £300. You'd set up some laptops and hire some promo girls, and give people a free gift and tournament ticket in return for opening a real money account there and then.

In short, offline is likely to get bigger. This year, for the first time, I've even had existing clients come to me asking for help with their offline marketing. But still, it's slow to catch on...

I maintain around 150 poker and casino accounts so that I can monitor their marketing, and although all these sites have my postal address, I can count on one hand the number who've ever sent me something through the mail!

You might want to check out the legality in your area of setting up things like stands in malls, sounds like our friend is from the U.K. so that's probably fine, other countries you might have to check.

yea but a very good idea, i still focus abit offline with live tournaments sponsoring etc, its still one of the best methods to get multi sign ups, if i ever need a cash boost i will sponsor a tournament, its quite a lot of work but its rewarding when you done it :-)

Glad you did well with that tournament Tom. Probably beats spamming chat at Party Poker which I tried a few years ago and man I got a lot of business in a short time but also got a lifetime ban out of the deal

Has anyone tried giving out CDs with the pokersoftware (with their affiliate id attached)? I'm always curious about those types of promotions. I know it's somewhat big in the Netherlands right now...

I get a lot of them sent to me in the mail I can tell you that and the very mention of CD's gets me gritting my teeth I wonder if this is really worth the expense, only a true internet neophyte like perhaps the old ladies that go to Tom's Posh Bingo site would be incapable ot typing in a URL so I dunno. I know they are used, I'm just wondering if they are worth the expense. On the other hand if Tanya is going to give you a bunch well maybe that's different...
