OK it wil allow PR to be built in a subtley different area to natural but that litle gren bar is the devils work and you should ignore it unless your busines model is selling links rather than ranking!

It's the devil's work but a lot of webmasters are possessed by the devil Again though if you're more disposed to trading rather than buying links because you don't have the money, are cheap, or are just plain cautious, your link partners are very likely to care Actually you will probably care about theirs or at least you should

I will add though and I've talked about this before on here that you want to check out rankings for prospective link partners whether you trade or buy, in addition to that evil toolbar that Jason loves to hate. There is differing levels of quality here at play and a site that ranks is going to be more valuable than one which doesn't, especially those made for toolbar home pages with a bunch of junk on them where the main purpose is just to be used as a tool for trading or selling links. It's the authority that you want passed which is going to be a combination of their on and off page and if they don't care about on page or don't know what they are doing it's going to be of lesser value, although still worth considering.
