Well I'm sort of glad it just isn't me, I believe that the strategy which works well with Google gets you in the crapper with this, which forebodes why their engine blows, I mean come on, leaving out great sites liks ours, it's got to be pure crap with no taste or effectiveness

Ken surely Bing have missed the boat with out ranking our sites top of average keywords like "poker and online poker".

On a serious note, im glad Microsoft have seen the need for change, the did need to do something for live.com. I would even be surprised if they can even compete with yahoo.

I would guess their search gets a decent amount of unsophisticated computer users.

I can also say from experience, it doesn't really matter if you optimize or not, I've never hit the radar with msn. I've even played their little game where I submit the information they want from webmasters... I've had sites that ranked easily on google and yahoo, that were "also ran" from an MSN point of view...

I figure if I can't beat them, why bother... Maybe with their name change and facelift they will adapt.

To get users switch from the other search engines, they need not only to be better than Google (which it isn't), but to be *MUCH* better than it.

So, I don't see them surpassing Google anytime soon.

The results from bing.com suck on local languages. Don't know about the English version though...

Well their stuff is in there by default with IE and a lot of people aren't savvy enough to know how to deselect that and more importantly download and select the Google toolbar. So as someone said, they have a bunch of unsophisticated users and they get what they deserve in terms of the quality of their search results. You would think that a company as big as Microsoft could have come up with a better engine.
