So what makes good Content?

Did I miss anything?

For the most part, only the News and Articles will change from time to time.

So is this the only two things that brings people back to your site?

You want to make your site syicky to the visitor. Give them a reason to come back. You can write a series of solid strategy articles that players may view as a resource, or subscribe to a news feed or other subscription service. Plus, new content on a regular basis keeps the spiders coming back more often and adds more stuff for people to find.

Ummmm...

I certainly hear what you're saying and agree.

My first thought would not have been that people are looking for Poker News and will come back to your site to read up on more poker news.

I can write articles on stratagies, rules, and tips, but once that's done, it's done.
Same for poker room reviews.

So the only thing I can see changing would be Poker News.

Of course you could add a Joke of the day or Tip of the day.

Feature different Poker Sites a day or week or month.
But wouldn't that just be moving content from an internal page up to the home page?

Ok so the next question is this:
I see that most of you cram all of this content on the home page. It that the best way to it or just one of the ways of doing it?

In my case, my site, at the moment, is centered around selling one product. I use the word selling loosely because the focus is to give it away by signing up at one of our poker rooms. You can't buy it.

So our whole HOME page is about this product and it's features.

Our SITE is focused on Texas Holdem and how best to play it. So we have articles, tips and stratagies, but these pages are all internal. Linked from the homepage.

You can write strategy and theory articles forever. I write three original unique poker articles every week. Sadly they rarely go on my site. If you run out of ideas, pick up a few cardplayer mags, and write your own articles from the titles in there.
