How Important Is A DMOZ Listing For Poker Sites?

After almost a year of trying, my main site was finally listed in the DMOZ this week I'm absolutely amazed. I thought it was nearly impossible for new gambling sites to get a listing!

So does this mean I can expect my search engine rankings to increase a bit? Or has it been downgraded so much in googles eyes that it's virtually meaningless?

Good links are always good, and you will always get benefits, and it has always been and continues to be a good place to have a link. It won't make your breakfast in the morning though. It's just one of many good things that can happen.

A DMOZ listing will never be worth nothing, not what it used to be though.

I've heard all kinds of tales of editor corruption, editor bribery etc. over the last year or so too. Some true, some not

Two of my sites got listed in the local section of DMOZ.
It produces a lot of backlinks.

The local section of DMOZ is easy to get into for Norwegian gambling sites.
Takes a week or two

Gregk, I'd heard the rumors and such as well and thought there was no way I'd ever get in, so I'm very happy. You know how it is when you're told you can't have something, you just want it even more.

And PPP, without sounding like a kiss-arse, thanks for all your posts on this forum. In all seriousness if I hadn't found this forum and absorbed yours, Randy's, and Jeremy's posts, I never would have gotten in or even had a successful site at all.
