Anyone had success with player notes and tagging fish etc...?

Which poker room is the best for this?

What situations do you mostly do this in?

Yes, Party Poker. I've had good success with tagging fish there. But it's even better at smaller sites, because it's easier to find a table with more than one person you have notes on.

Yes, if your playing for a profit player notes can be invaluable. Most people that play full-time or quasi full-time ALL keep player notes. If you play on one site at one limit, you will find yourself bumping into the same players every few nights.

For example when I used to play a ton, I would play 10-20 and would get all giddy when I checked my notes and found that there was a fish or someone with a certain betting pattern at my table. It made it so much easier to read their style.

Also I found it useful to note the time I was playing in my notes. For example Very Loose Play 2 A.M., talking smack........Usually this meant that they were not in their right frame of mind, and if it happened more than once I knew I had a drunk fish on the line.

There's a great article on taking player notes on the Party Poker strategy guide. Definitely worth reading.

Some sites are better than others. Like Full Tilt or Poker Room where you can just color code people instead.

lemme speak from my experience/POV only. btw, i only play NLHE tourneys...
notes/stats is IMHO the most important feature in online poker. ive really gotten into the habit of taking copious notes on anyone ive ever played with. true, this being online poker with millions of ppl around and esp. if u play on the likes of stars, paradise or party for example, u may never see most again. BUT, ive found it a very useful habit to acquire. now i see what the pros mean when they say they keep 'book' on their rivals. helps a great deal when ur faced with a person u 'know' from before. and ud be surprised how many times someone will do (almost) the exact same thing again. over and over again.
and IMHO stars and paradise have the best notes/stats features bar none.

i dont use player notes. i judge the players by how they are playing at that time or that hand. if they are like me, they change the way they play every hand.

I JUST PLAY THE CARDS & DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE DOES.
IF I HAVE THE WINNING HAND GREAT - IF NOT SUCKS FOR ME.
MOST PLAYERS DONT PLAY THE SAME WAY ALL THE TIME WHICH MAKES THE NOTES USELESS

Actually it is the point of notes. And...

"if they are like me, they change the way they play every hand."

They aren't like you.
