Pokerstars Macau

Don't know if anyone noticed the release but Stars have opened a landbased poker room in Macau..http://www.pokerstarsmacau.com/ I am out there next week for G2E Asia so will 100% be paying it a visit and will report back.

On the club - The more I think about it the more I think it is a great idea. Two reasons:

1 - Trust - Asian gamblers are massively about trust and this reinforces that they aren't just an online brand but also an offline brand in their biggest gambling mecca

2 - Payments - I could be wrong but this club would be a perfect payment mechanism. China gambling is all about cash and it flowing through pramids from the big guys at the top to the smaller junket type guys at the bottom and this would be a perfect payment mechanism to move the cash on and off line.

Who know? Either way I think it is both a very interesting and very clever move

So I am still in Macau but found half an hour to go online - Firstly this place is crazy - The Venetian is huge as in MASSIVE - You can't understand till you come here and the way business is done here is a billion miles away from what I am used to but is really really interesting.

I popped into the PokerStars club and it is really nice with branding absolutely everywhere in teh club and throughout the Casino. They actually had quite a number of games going on including a big cash game (converted to around $15-30 NL) which apparently is a regular happening there at midnight onwards - Infact they mentioned a number of pro playing Swedes have moved over here just to play the large cash games in there against the more inexperienced Asian players. I will right more soon if I get the chance but the good news is I finished up (not much but at least up)
