Worth the question, uncommon card story.
Last weekend I was playing at a local card room in FL. Max buy in is $100 here. Yeah, I know...not impressive.
But anways...I promise to ask this question whenever I get the chance before a call, "You got it?"
Here's why: I flopped top pair, kings w/ 7 kicker after a limp in late position. there was 2 to the flush on the board. opponent checked, i bet 20.
turn was a blank, he checked, i bet 25
river was a blank, he immediately went all in for the rest of his chips, around 50 bux.
of course i put him on the busted flush draw, but wasn't sure. i counted out the call and kept the chips near me like you normally would while contemplating. i looked straight at him and asked "you got it?", in an attempt to pick up a read. without skipping a beat, he stands up, throws is cards down, says "no man, i don't have it" and walks away from the table...i then gently said..."call" and took down the pot.
the funny thing is...only half the table realized what had happened. i thought about that hand for like 5 hands later. it was like tilt but in reverse.
it was great! i will be sure to ask that question again and again.
anyone else with uncommon card stories?
