Just got done playing and felt I had to share (since everyone I know is in bed)...finished 2nd in my first Empire SNG! Sure, it was only a $5/1 and netted me $9, but for an hours worth of play it was worth it! Guess I'll be back for more later. I'm still amazed at how many people go out before the first round of blinds is up...

Ive been playing the Party/Empire SnGs for almost a year now. I used to play alot of limit but have since moved to sng's full time. Send me an e-mail Gator. I got a ton of good strategy guides for you to look at. Im currently back to playing the $10+1s while I get accustom to 4-6 tabling. Im trying to log 1000 sngs per month right now. Its tough but I think I can do it.

I know the one startegy that works over and over again is patience. I actually took two bad beats and was down to about 300 chips but continued to play solid poker with a good betting strategy and it paid off. This is my first SNG in a long time and I was very pleased with my play. The last few I did play were on Stars and I didn't fair so well.

I'd be happy to look at your guides...thanks!

One strategy I like to use sometimes in SnG's is too fold everything in the first few rounds no matter what, with the exception of AA or KK. When the blinds are so small there's really not to much action anyways and it's easy to piss away $15 and $30 at a time when the flop doesn't hit you.

Besides it seems everytime I play a hand like AJ during the first few rounds, it gets cracked by some idiot playing 78 OS who catches his straight.

Pre-Flop play in $10 SnG's at Party is unconventional in the first few rounds. Any flop can create a monsters for people. I find however the deeper you get into the tourney when your down to 5 or less the play does tighten up a bit and allows you to get more value out of your premium hole cards.

Although my goal is always to win, I am happy just being in the Top 3 and in the money. By folding 99% of my hands in the first few rounds I usually have between $500 - $600 in my stack by the time I start playing. Then I seldom call the BB, usually I wait for a premium starting hand and stack off. I can't say this works every time, but I have had much more luck getting into the money by avoiding landmines in the beginning.

What is your name on PP? Are you on the leader board?

Your sng's should go something like this, fold, fold, fold(first 40 hands) then all in, all in, all in.

Lol. Im not on the Party Poker Leaderboard. I play the 10s and 20s. Even Playing 1000 of those won't get me there. I play on Empire also. I flip back and forth depending on which computer im working from.

Jeremy was simplifying the basic sng strategy which is to play very tight for the first 3-4 levels and than very aggressive after that. It does seem like you fold the first 30-40 hands than you push all-in on 50% of your hands from than on.

You could probably make the leader board playing the 20's, I played all sng's for a while and made it pretty high up the leader board with the 50's.
