I would not fold them but the last two times preflop that I got pushed all-in I lost to pocket queens with a queen on the flop.

Well Phil hellmuth on his website has a hand of the day and this one was also in this months cardplayer but any way on tilt everest was told to fold a hand and he got AA and folded it like the tv directors said to but it took him a minute or two and Phil said only when a producer on a show says to fold AA preflop you should.

But i think in a super sattellie with say 10 seats and there are 12 players and 3-4 all ins in front of you it might be correct but thats if you were short stacked and if you did get knocked out they went by chip count not how great your hand is.

Aside from the satellite situation you would have to hold a bullet to my head and even then I would have a hard time laying it down.

Personally if I'm in tournament I would call AA all day even if I'm on the bubble or the next few spots have higher payouts. After all I'm playing to win, not just to get into the money. If your AA holds up you will double your stack and then your sitting in the drivers seat.

AA or KK to me is one of the best starting hands to go in on & weed out card catchers.

Anyways, I read a post on another forum where a guy said that sometimes it is correct to fold AA before the flop. Personally no matter what kind of game it was I would never fold AA before the flop.

I have folded KK once in my life, and AA once -- preflop. Phil Hellmuth did it four times with KK, and he a pro that plays a lot.

When I folded KK, it was because i was two spots away from a WSOP qualifier, and knew he had AK, AQ or maybe JJ, QQ and didnt want him to catch a set with his all in raise that had me covered.

The AA I folded was difficult. It was for a $5000 guarentee at the final table and I had three huge all-ins that had me covered. Not that being a Math major influenced my decision, but the probably that a KQ or KK or 1010 catching something more than a couple of Aces is high
