Lightbulb Rummy site - 1 down 2 to go

Hi all

Started on my first rummy site today www.kalookibonus.com so please let me know your thoughts so far.

There are still some blanks, but I like it so far.

What are your thoughts on key words, content (not so much of that yet) the slim look etc.

Im gonna get a header image later.

Now im busted, better hit the sack

Just one thing you dont have a title in your index page. Kalooki bonus page and Kalooki freerolls have duplicate title tags...other than that I really like it. Simple and easy to read..nice job

I love the design of the site, but the content needs work. Pages like this http://www.kalookibonus.com/kalooki-rules.htm which aren't broken up into paragraphs are very hard to read. A lot of the sentences are awkwardly written.

I like the design, it's nice and easy to navigate. Its a good start. Here are a few suggestions...

1) Use a different font than Times New Roman, you can use others that are far easier to read and make the site a little more aesthetically pleasing. I would go for Verdana or Arial, or even Tahoma. These fonts have letters that are more clearly defined so visitors feel comfortable reading these fonts.

This should only take 2 seconds to chnage if you are using CSS. If you're not, then this is a prime opportunity to learn before you site becomes to big.

2) The forum... As soon as people click on the forum link and get taken to your other forum they are probably click the back button 2 seconds later. I felt like I was being taken to a completely different site and didnt like it. So I think you should have your own forum rather than trying to squeeze your visitors into your other freeroll forum. If they wanted to visit a freeroll forum, they would have searched for it on Google rather than for Kalooki.

I think thats about it for now, its a good start. Maybe you could increase the width of the site, but thats just my own personal preference.

Probably a good idea to think about how you are going to structure the site when you expand it. If you plan to make 50 pages or more, the top navigation is going to struggle and you will have lots of sub-pages hidden deep throughout the site. Just plan for the future so you won't be stuck for a solid navigation when your site grows.

Im still using frontpage, i want to start using dreamweaver but my cpu is old and tired and the program is to big to install, ill proberly buy a new one next month and then start working with dreamweaver and improve my general writing and coding skill and learn more about CSS. But i wanted the site up and running now instead of just being blank.

A rummy board has been added and a more detailed explanation before your taken there, what do you think about that?

i guess you eighter like the small design or you dont, but im pleased with it so im gonna hang on to the slim look

Hmmm... i think the way its made now a few new pages are easily added, and i dont really have plans on expanding it that much exept for more articles and general promotions and stuff, but when I get dreamweaver running i might "transfer" most of the stuff to that program and redesign it a little. But i get your point, i have made that mistake quit sometimes before.
