Default Poker Tournament on Saturday Night??

I was talking to Dee the other day about the event, and she suggested instead of rounding up everyone for one big dinner, we should get a space and have a poker tournament and open bar on that Saturday evening.

This way we can all do dinner on our own or in groups that evening depending on what tastes people have. Then we could re-convene as a group for a friendly poker tournament and cocktails sponsored by 888 around 7:30-8:00. After that I imagine we will hit the town....What is bar time in Niagara, anyone know?

Please share thoughts. Trying to plan a dinner for that many people reminds me of my wedding, and eating banquet style food sucks! Plus, knowing most of you, there will be more value in playing poker and free drinks than a plate of food anyways!

Share thoughts..........

I'm definitely up for the poker and drinks... beats having a dinner get-together by a mile!

Were you planning to do the dinner at McDonalds? I don't really like the poker tournament thing. I am probably planning to bring my girlfriend, so I know that she wouldn't want to sit around watching me play poker. Just call up the Keg, tell them you are bringing x # of people and they'll take care of the rest. But, make sure it is the Keg that overlooks the falls, the other one is kinda ghetto.

I'm down for poker, but I'd still enjoy a nice dinner before or even in place of if that's what people prefer.

Dinner first, then poker... works for me (I'm always up for a good steak). My wife will be along but she's ok with the poker. She usually cleans me out in our home games.

We can still get a group of us and find a nice place to have dinner for those wanting to do that before poker. Likewise the poker tourney is optional as well.

I just didn't want to schedule a formal deal where people felt obligated in the event they were only in town one night and didn't like our selection.

I'm down for whatever. Or I can have Karl's wife, Greg's wife, and my wife bring their Aprons and we can rent some kitchen space so they can cook for all of us.

On second thought,
