Exclamation Attn: PAW and Pokerstars

I wasnt going to post this because I wanted to wait for a reply from Mitchell but right now I think my shot at getting an honest reply is better this way and also to make note of a few things.

I received an email from Mitchell stating this

Quote:
Dear Cheryle,

As you might be aware, we’ve been in discussions with PokerStars regarding promoting their room through our integrated network.
Many would have received a notification from them on the 3rd of March, outlining that those that are/have promoted them directly, are not to promote PokerStars through PAW.

Despite our efforts to allow you to keep promoting through us and receive the benefits of the PokerNews freerolls, the agreement that we have in place with PokerStars is to continue.

This means that the PAW tracker that you have been assigned on your account
paw49

will be removed as of the 14th of April.

All sign-ups up to that point will be paid for. If you wish to promote PokerStars, you will need to utilise your direct account with them.
First I have not received any email regarding this issue from neither Stars nor PAW or I would have complied. Second I have been using PAW trackers since forever and I do think that people should have been told this from the start. Fine thinsg change you adapt. Here is my issue

What is happening to the players I have on my account?

Will they be moved to my inhouse account with Pokerstars?

Will I be compensated for them if by chance if they are left to PokerNews?

I am sorry but I am really upset by this because I did nothing wrong. I did not break the rules, I was not given any notice that my account was in question and I even spoke to Fiona, Carly, Mitchel and kane all within a couple of days of each other regarding a totally seperate issue which of course I complied as requested and they have all known for months that I have been using PAW to promote Stars. So if this was an issue than why was it not addressed than when i could have been sending players to PS on behalf of myself and not PAW

Awaiting your reply

Same thing just happened to me Cheryle - I'm completely lost and dumbfounded by the decision. Especially considering I hadn't promoted Stars directly through their own site in probably over a year now. This is definitely a crazy decision that's been handed down.

Well Carly and Fiona I would like to know whats going on. This is really tacky to say the least. They have offered to not take a profit just so us affiliates dont get played over because of "guidelines" that were not in place from day one.

I missed my notice on the 3rd of March anyone else?

Quote:
Hi Cheryle,

I know there’s a lot of questions that will arise from this, and i will answer them based on the information that i’ve received from PokerStars.

Essentially, those that have signed up until the 14th, will be credited to your account. These players will not be transferable.
We do not get a cut of any of these sign-ups either.

We’ve proposed to them that our affiliates stay on our network, without any profit to us, so that affiliates such as yourself will still be eligible to offer your players the freerolls that our trackers are eligible for. Unfortunately they’ve declined this proposal.

When we spoke last month, PokerStars did not state that there was an issue itself with your account, and had approved the modifications that you had made. They did not mention otherwise.

Pokerstars informed us that they had been touch with all affected affiliates regarding this on the 3rd of March, and ever since then, we’ve been in discussions with them for a workaround but they are standing their ground on this.

As they don’t release the database with us regarding who’s signed up with Stars initially, we’re unable to take the pre-emptive on who’s already sign-up with PokerStars previously

Please understand that it doesn’t leave us in an ideal position either, but these are terms of the deal that we have with them.

Please do not hesitate to contact me further if you want more clarification,

i got email from PokerStars:

Hello,

Unfortuantely we do not currently support a sub affiliate program. However,
we are currently working on a new affiliate system and this will be one of the features. We will keep you updated.

Kind Regards,
Amy

I think this is different than what Kaus is posting about though

Before anyone jumps down Mitchells throat or any of the PAW staff I just want to say he has been responding to my many many emails within the last couple hours and is explaining as best as he can. I am hoping that Pokerstars can give us the same courtesy.

Hi guys,

I've had the unfortunate task to be the bearer of this news.

It's my understanding that when PAW and PokerStars had initially struck this deal, those that had promoted through Stars directly, were not to promote through us.

As we do not have access to any affiliate's information on which programs that they are already a part of, we have had to provide the room with a list of the URLs that are promoting their trackers on our network.

Through discussions in the last month or so, PokerStars have identified various accounts that have cross promoted, and that has led to this issue coming up.

to answer the questions posed:

Quote:
What is happening to the players I have on my account?
The players that convert up to the date will be paid out by Stars through us. We do not get anything from these sign-ups. We will not receive anything from players that convert after.

Quote:
Will they be moved to my inhouse account with Pokerstars?
This is a decision for PokerStars, but because my understanding is, because they're tracked differently, they are unable to be moved.

Quote:
Will I be compensated for them if by chance if they are left to PokerNews?
The trackers affected will be shut down, and we will not receive any additional payments for them.

As i mentioned to Kaus, i can't emphasize enough, how much PAW has attempted to negotiate that affiliates affected, remain on our network, without any profit to us - and still receive the benefits that we can offer. Which is what we felt would be just, considering that you were not aware of this condition.

All this taking into account that we would only be managing your account without any benefits to us apart from fostering relationships with you.

Please do not hesitate to contact any one of us, if you need further clarification.

Thanks

Good to see this thread. I got the email on the 3rd of March and sent them an email back asking a few questions. I never received a reply, so I thought that if they can't be bothered to answer my questions, then I couldn't be bothered to make any changes.

But anyways, the trackers are going to stop working on the 14th? As long as we just change our links there shouldn't be any problem right? The only problem being that the PMPs on that tracker will not have the opportunity to turn into RMPs for us?

Thanks for the thread.

NVM - I was complaining about issues which didn't actually exist as it turns out.

BTW - thanks to Mitchell and the team for trying to come to an agreement for us - your efforts are appreciated.

Now that I have had a couple hours sleep I have a couple of questions to both PAW and Pokerstars

Carly & Fiona - Why can we not have our players transferred over to Stars? If PAW is not getting paid for these players than why can they not be moved over?

Mor importantly and this is directed to both

Why are the affiliates being penalized for something they had no direct control over?

Understand that we had the choice to move with PAW. This information was not provided to any of us as per what was said in this thread

Quote:
As part of the agreement PokerStars has with PAW, PokerStars affiliates should not be using a PAW tracker. We apologise if this was not outlined when you signed up for a PAW tracker.
Why should we lose players do to guidelines between two companies that were not made clear to US!
