Questions About Poker Content

Hello, My writing partner and I (both degreed American writers) have decided to get more involved in the poker world as we are both avid poker players. We had one client who we had been writing poker content (strategy and room reviews etc) and found we enjoy it, and it seems to be in high demand. My question to you site owners is this, we see people advertising for clients, and other produce content and simply sell it in packs. Each has its perks for the writer, but I am interested in what the website owners prefer, what is the best way to approach this board in terms of writing? We are able to provide custom strategy and general poker content at what I feel are competitive prices. It is nice to see people paying actual legitimate rates here!!

You will find I think that it works both ways, if you simply feel like writing about something poker related there will usually be a buyer for it.

If you additionally set up relationships with people, you also get volume orders to keep you busy.

One thing, the nature of this area invites a lot of content stealing/rewriters so be mindful of this.

What are your rates may I ask? Interestingly enough I both buy content and write my own for sale when I feel like it.....so I'm in both arenas so to speak.

I write strategy content, thats about it, I hire out for other things.

As far as rates go, it really depends on the piece. 500 words that takes me 20 minutes to write on an event, or poker news is not the same rate as strategy content. I have earned as high as 15 cents per word from people, and am willing to work with each buyer. I know, not a firm answer, I am still getting a feel for the board and the clientèle.
