the only problem is the links from that website have little to no value yet.

I think it's a great idea as long as you don't accept any articles that have been published elsewhere. I'd be more than happy to send you an article or two.

The first 100 articles are free to help generate content and PR, that's why they don't cost anything yet. When the next PR update hits, those who've already posted will have higher value articles and links.

All articles will be Copyscaped, and must be unique. If they aren't they won't be posted. If they're used later on another site they'll be removed.

and neither does the majority of content you put on your own site till it gets established. Whether a site is new or not doesnt mean there isnt any value or the potential for value in the future.

I would much rather have an article of mine published on Jess's site then I would one of those free pr places or article directory that accepts just about anything.

I couldn't agree more. I actually had an idea to something similar to this a while back but never got around to it. I love the idea and I think once it gets some SERP value and PR, there is some nice potential here.

Plus add the value of the readers once he gets this thing going. I mean really how many articles does he have the potential of publishing daily, which means readers will be getting so much value from his site it'll be sick...this is a huge benefit to everyone

Thanks Cheryle and Jeremy, I really appreciate the input.

I also wanted to add another thing that I forgot to mention. Since I've already ran into this I thought I'd better to make it clear now. Unless someone can convince me of a fair way to manage this, I'm not going to be posting complete poker room reviews. I did one because I wasn't clear about it in my original post, but the articles regarding poker rooms need to be more specific ie an article about a promotion going on, a tournament, a new feature at a poker room, that sort of stuff. If I allow poker room reviews, everyone will want to post them and the site will be full of redundant content - a bad thing. I want to make this a great resource so I'm open to any ideas if someone has a better thought on this.

Besides, the point is to write articles that give visitors a reason to go to your site. To make the best use of this service, people should be adding anchor text such as 'for more information read our complete xxx poker room review'.

Cool?

Thanks,

Jess

Yeah i know i have absolutely no links pointing into my site. That doesnt mean my site doesnt have "potential" but what is potential anyway, just some words.

I could see a way of this working though, is if you generated alot of links to it. For example, you can only post to the site if you have a hardlink going to that site etc. But in essence your just creating one massive link farm then, which is not so whitehat.

Not exactly though. Yes you are generating lots of new links, but at the same time you are also generating several new pages of content. Ideally you want to see a site like this have gain a great deal of authority so that when you post an article, it will rank in the SERPS driving you new traffic, at the same time giving you quality backlinks on the site.

I suppose it would be easy for me or anyone to be negative on the site, since it's easy to think "why didn't I do that". But in reality if Jess does it right, it is great value for everyone involved and I'm happy for anyone that achieves success in this industry.

I mean imagine being able to post your articles on an authority site and know that you are getting traffic and valuable links.....

I give it a thumbs up. We'll have a great talk about the site and concept on the radio tomorrow night.
