Taking link building to a new level

Let's face it, links from directories and text-ads isn't that effective anymore. What we need today are links from content pages with decent pagerank.

The best link you can get is in compliance to ALL of this:
- The link is within the content of a web-page, not in a link section
- The link is the only one within the content, second best it is one of a few links
- The link is on a page with high pagerank
- The link has anchor text with the keywords you are targeting

How can we as a comunity use this to increase the pagerank of our sites?

Let's make our own link exchange. But we need to make an effort, because we need to put the links into some piece of content, not just a link.

My contribution:

I have a PR4 blog. I will create a few posts in the blog about some of the "PAW websites". This blog is spidered often by google, so your link will be picked up rather fast.

Anybody want to join this "link exchange"?

I like this idea! I would be willing to trade links with someone in one of these manners:

1. If someone has a blog and they would like to trade links weekly with my blog, up at www.smackdogpoker.com/blog, it could work something like this. I would make a post with your link in it once or more per week in exchange for you doing the same.

2. I could add your link to a permanent page on my site. Simply browse my site, www.smackdogpoker.com, find a page and write a paragraph or so of unique content including your link in it. Then I could find a similar PR page on your site to do the same.

I have two blogs, one PR3 and one PR2. My homepage on my website is PR3 and the rest of the pages, PR2.

I will blog on one in exchange for someone blogging or mentioning my other site.

More importantly, Page Rank of your page doesn't mean anything to me as long as it's a quality page with good content.

yea this sounds like a great idea, i have a home page pr3. i promote live games in the uk. So any unique content about live/local etc games would be great for me. I would be happy to either create another page/s for this to happen.

even a review of some blogs permanent page with your own links in.

im open to all ideas really :-)
