Also, make sure to enable private registration for all of your domains
how is this done?

I had no idea that you could get punished for having multible sites so im abit worried about this since i have 12 sites linking to each other on the same hosting account.

should i really split them all up to different hosts?

Before you do this ask an SEO expert ... I've read or heard before that you should do this before creating the site and doing so on a existing site will hurt it

Pattern for your 12 sites

WebSite 1 Links to 2 3 4 5
WebSite 2 Links to 3 4 5 6
WebSite 3 Links to 4 5 6 7
WebSite 4 Links to 5 6 7 8
WebSite 5 Links to 6 7 8 9
WebSite 6 Links to 7 8 9 10
WebSite 7 Links to 10 11 12 1
WebSite 8 Links to 2 3 4 5
WebSite 9 Links 3 4 5 6
WebSite 10 Links 4 5 6 7
WebSite 11 Links 5 6 7 8
WebSite 12 Links 6 7 8 9

None of the sites above link to each other
Ensure you have reg privacy.
Have a mix of links elsewhere
No need to mix hosts jabber, your other link do that for you.

Can I have my contact information removed from WHOIS?
The contact information of an individual who has registered a domain name is required to be legitimate contact information. This information is also required to be available to the public through the WHOIS database. According to ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), the governing body for the registration of domain names, a domain name registered by an entity providing invalid contact information is grounds for revocation of the registration of the domain name. Real contact information is required by ICANN in order to generate accountability for what is placed on a domain by any entity registering a domain name.
