Default 2008 Poker Conference Cyprus - Official Thread

Although we have talked about the Poker Conference in the past, this will be the official sticky thread for it. We just got the site up today, and even prior to that the interest was tremendous.

I thank many of you for your suggestions and feedback to make this happen. Please keep them coming.

We have already sold out the ASOP sponsorships, as well as several booth spaces and other smaller sponsorships. Also for the ASOP we will be giving away a $10K WSOP Main Event Package on top of the normal blinged out bracelet. It's going to be pretty sick.

You can find all the details on the site, www.PokerConference.com, but I will also list them here. We are securing speakers and sessions now. Please share any thoughts, questions, suggestions, or comments in this thread.

Dates: May 19th -21st (Just Prior to CAP Spring Break)
Location & Details: Grand Resort in Limassol, Cyprus
Cost: As always admission is free, the rooms are only 100 Euros per person.

I am excited that we are finally going to have a conference just for poker affiliates. Like the forums, this is for all of us, so please feel free to share any suggestions or comments you may have.

How much is a typical flight out of the U.S. to Cyprus?

The cheapest I'm seeing for that time period is $2,000 roundtrip.

Hey Tony / All,

You would probably get a better flight deal via one of the European hubs - flight from US --> XYZ then a second flight to Cyprus via one of the many budget carriers..... below are some hubs to consider:

Heathrow / Gatwick - London
Schipol - Amsterdam
Frankfurt - erm, Frankfurt!
Charles De Gaul - Paris

Will add a couple of hours to your journey, but should shave at least $500 off the tickets!

Cheers, Mark

Regarding via London - Easyjet is starting flights from here to cyprus v soon and they are always cheap - There is also the likes of BA and Cyprus Air who Sasha flew with the other day and said they were really good.

Also I understand Cyprus is 40 mins from Israel so maybe go via there - You could party with a load of the Aff mgrs out there just before - This is my plan

If anyone finds some cheaper flights from the U.S. please post the links, The cheapest flights I'm seeing is around 2k from Vegas.

Also, can we get some clarification on the price of the rooms? I've seen it referenced at 100 euros, but then also referenced as 100 Euros per person (and also listed with 60 euro single supplement). If the rooms are 200 Euros a night, just say so.

It's looking like this trip might be close to 6k for a week if I bring the wife along.

I don't mind spending money, but I don't like burning it either.

Jason

I did a little research and it looks like you can get a flight from Virgin Atlantic from LA to London for $545-$721 then take easyjet from London to Cyprus for 89 euros each way.

CAP/PAP, why don't you just buy a tropical island and everyone can move there? Easier!

Yea me too, Vegas was awesome back in the days. Although Cyprus is a journey for us in the U.S. it looks to be an awesome venue.
