Default PokerStars - CPA vs. Revenue Share

Hey Everyone, I was reading the thread on Stars taking away CPA and we had a few questions last night on PAP Radio about this as well. I had a quick chat with them this morning and here is the deal.

PokerStars will be switching their front end on the affiliate program to allow affiliates to choose Rev Share or CPA. However, all revenue share affiliates will have to be approved by Stars. This is to make sure they keep 'rakeback' deals from happening.

An affiliate is paid their CPA when a player reaches 100 FPP's.

First Frequent Player Point (FPP) is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:

$0.40 for fixed limit poker games with stakes $1/$2 and lower
$0.40 for NL/PL poker games with blinds $1/$2 and lower
$0.40 for "1-on-1" poker games (this applies only to "1-on-1" tables, not to regular tables which have only two players seated)
$1.00 for all other games

Second FPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:

$2.00 for all 6-max tables (this doesn't apply for games being played 6- handed at 10/9/8 player tables - just 6-max tables)
$3.00 for all other tables

Third FPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches $5.00.

I don't understand, is the FPP system changing as well or were you just adding that in there as an FYI...also, I'd love to hear from Mitchell if PAW affiliates will be able to switch from CPA to MGR...also, I'd love to know if you discussed possible MGR %'s....that is all, for now i guess.

Anyone know if PAW will have a rev share deal with PokerStars?

Don't really want to have to sign up to PStars directly and risk voiding my PAW trackers. But would love to have a rev share deal.

The FPP payout for a CPA is the same. I just wanted to post that as it was inevitable that someone asked in this thread

stars is by far no1 reguarding playability. Its a major plus for MGR. The backend system sucks. Ive never touched stars other than a few banners.

From a player perspective :

stars is great, crap intro bonus but the points system has allowed me to play in the $1m for free. Player points = rakeback

On the player points aspect, how much do you think they will offer on MGR?

With MGR you would expect a better backend

My initial guess is that MGR will be somewhere in the 20% - 30% range. But this is just speculation. I can't imagine them going much higher on non negotiated deals.

I'm guessing something like 20% (25% tops), but even that would be awesome. If they offered anything better that would just be the shit.

When they start offering this MGR deal they will surely be getting a whole load of exposure from affiliates.

I'm betting 15% personally.

A question about being approved:

Lots of us rakeback affiliates have them up as a bonus offer because they convert well, will we be able to just put them in a clearly defined "non rakeback" area on these sites and be approved?

I second the question about will PAW offer a revshare deal.
