Default Suggestion for PokerStars

I was thinking today of something that would be totally awesome.
If we could affiliate PokerStars using PokerStars.tv

For example a forum owner embeds code where people could click a PS TV icon for BBCode that generates [PSTV]Code[/PSTV] to display the video, but in there embedding their PokerStars affiliate ID is included.

Somehow if it worked in that anyone who clicked the video go the affiliates pokerstars cookie or seen adds for PokerStars.com instead of PokerStars.net with the code added in.

Anyways sure there are a ton of challenges and reasons for not doing this, but I see this as a great way a poker video site could become really big. All the ones out there now are linked to other peoples products or ran by affiliates so most forums just stick to supporting YouTube and don't add lots of others.

Anyways just a though I'm sure someone else has already had but figured I'd pass it along.

I don't really follow, but anything having to do with the .tv will only be associated with the .net, so there currently isn't a way for affilaites to do anything useful... at least not until a system for paying an affiliate $3 or something like that for a .net player exists.

I think what he is suggesting is to allow affiliates the ability to use Pokerstars videos to market their site. Ie. if you post a vid on your site it can contain an affiliate link back to pokerstars, or just even use the vid for promoting them. Correct me if I am wrong prop?

Some sort of an option.
As it stands right now obviously forum owners are inclined to support easy posting of YouTube videos on their forum because YouTube is the most popular and when someone visits a YouTube video they're not promoted all sorts of poker rooms.

I think PokerTube is a cool idea for a site, but unless I had some sort of involvement with them or they provided something of value I see no reason to support easily posting their videos on my sites because PokerTube.com is filled with all sorts of advertisements.

The same feelings about PokerTube would apply to any video site with similar ads.

On the other hand, PokerStars.tv, now thats something I could see supporting the easy posting of videos of if somehow it was somehow tied into the affiliate account. I realize though this is a major challenge and there are downsides and reasons not to do it, I just figured I would shoot out the suggestion.

How it could work there are so many options - perhaps just have it so if someone with with a PokerStars.tv affiliate cookie signs up for PokerStars.com it counts, perhaps if there is some other way like where if the person came from an affiliate it shows a PokerStars.com instead of .Net ad. I don't know how the PokerStars.net works but maybe they could come up with a way for affiliates to support it. Perhaps making it so players PokerStars.TV account, PokerStars.NET account and PokerStars.com account all shared the same username. When someone tries to register a tPokerStars.COM and they have a PokerStars.NET account it says, you've previously used this email address to sign up with PokerStars.NET or PokerStars.TV if this you....

At PartyPoker (not sure if it still is this way) when you signed up as an affiliate you could enter your PartyPoker username and password and it would populate the fields with your information.

Perhaps a PokerStars.TV account could work the same way. Or perhaps at PokerStars.COM sign up it would say have a PokerStars.TV or .NET account already, proceed here to quick sign up. This might be even easier to do for PokerStars.NET players signing up at PokerStars.COM because they could probably look for a registry key of .NET and show this option only to new sign ups to pokerstars.com who already have the .NET version.

I'm sure there are other possibilities as well. Basically the suggestion was considering ways affiliates might have an added benefit to support PokerStars.TV (which might or might not mean a way to support PokerStars.NET) because this is something many affiliates could certainly push and support giving PokerStars a lot extra exposure.

I also think there is big room in the market for a Poker Video Network and having a big army of website with incentives to support it couldn't hurt any, I don't suppose anyways.

It would be nice if an affiliate sent a player to .net that if the player ever converted to a RMP the affiliate would get paid, but from what I can tell any connection of .tv to .com is a total no go. the whole point of their commercials in many jurisdictions is they are sent to .net (or the equivalent like .de). They are very scrupulous about this, and have a lot riding on it, including their sponsored player deals, so I don't think there is a chance of direct .com association. Even a tiny benefit from an affiliate linking to their commercials would be nice, but it might even be the case that they would have to prohibit affiliates from using them. At this point though I think they presume their is so little benefit they can offer affiliates that they don't bother with possible options.

PPP I edited my post above, 10 minutes after posting it.
Perhaps a way is giving an affiliate an incentive to promote PokerStars.NET which could be promoted through PokerStars.TV.

Also these are loose suggestions, I'm sure they've thought of this as well and I can certainly see where the downside of doing something like this might outweigh the benefits of it.

It would be awesome though it it were possible.

We are definitely looking at ways that we can utilize pokerstars.tv with affiliates. I can't promise when it will be, but hopefully sooner rather than later.
