Default The future of rummy

I've been spending 10 minutes looking searching for various domains and found a couple of half decent rummy domains are available.

Now I don't really have much time to develop it at the moment, but it could be an interesting future project, so I'd be interested to hear the forum's thoughts on how important you think Rummy will be a couple of years down the line.

I know it's currently the third most popular online game at the moment - is there a fair bit of cash in it? Do you think its popularity will grow?

Thanks alot for your help

For being the 3rd most popular game, I don't see many playing it for real money.
perhaps some site will come along in the future that does not charge ridiculous skill game type rakes but still manages to find a huge marketing budget.
Personally I don't see it happening but I'm open to being wrong.

Is it really? Where is this number backed up? Are you comfortable with that stat?
It sounds like marketting hype to me.

Did they lump poker together as one? (ignoring Holdem, Omaha, stud etc as separate games)
Backgammon is number two?

Where does that leave all the casino options like slots, blackjack, baccarat ?

-------------

Of all the gambling games that people play online - would you really rank rummy as #3?

Hi Guys,

To answer some of your questions:

TheShortStack - Rummy is the third most bought board game in the world after monopoly and scrabble. It is a family of games played in both cards and tiles throughout the whole world - if you would like - I can elaborate on some of the many variants.

PokerProp - I would do a little more investigation if I were you - If you are coming to Cyprus I would like to show you some figures. Figures like players playing for around 9 hours a day. Regarding rake - we have the luxury of not being competitive about it yet...

TheGooner - Rummy is the third most offline popular game. It's family of games that includes Gin Rummy, Tile Rummy, Mahjong and lots more popular variants. You might know it as "tonk" (Aussie style). We have brought it online in a multiplayer rake based game. I believe you see the potential in it...

Alex - what can I say - you are always right!!!

cya guys in Cyprus

I have had limited success with rummy, albiet with limited traffic, as my sites are still maturing... I remain optomistic!

I made a blog post today about this. Does anyone promote other games like Kalooki?

I also have a rummy site. It was quite successful when I had the no deposit bonus to promote, but I don't have as much success since the bonus expired.
