Effectivenss of directory listings

I was wondering what is better

paid text links on a PR4 home page (max of 2 sites)

or 100 directory links all above PR3+

I would say the PR4 would be a better option but are both very valuable. Its best to have your site in a selection of sites as well as paid listings. Is the paid listing obvious to google or is has it been offered in an email? I know that google is penalising affiliates for buying links at the moment.

I'd rather have a DMOZ listing for a site than 2 PR4 links. just me though.

I have tried and never recieved a reponse from them so I revently resubmitted an app. again yesterday. Fingers crossed but not counting on it.

DMOZ is hard to get on to what proportion of affiliates do you think are listed in dmoz?

Unless you have a very specific niche or a known authority you are highly unlikely to get into DMOZ.
