Default Does Anyone Here Offer Their Services?!

Are there any people in this forum who offer their SEO services out at a charge or anything?!

Obviously i mean people who have at the moment or have had great success in the past?!

I think many of the best SEO guys here would indeed offer their services out. But I know what some of the big guys require and I can tell you most would charge you at least $5K+ a month, if not much more.

Most of these guys can make a ton of money SEO'ing their own sites. And if they were to get hired by another affiliate to essentially SEO a competing site in the industry, it would have to be well worth their while.

In all honesty if you devote the time and effort, meaning reading and researching for hours, days, and weeks...SEO is not rocket science. It's more time consuming and a game of patience than anything else.

True Jeremy,

Ive had a few pm's from guys on here and their prices are pretty reasonable. I just cant get it all around my head at the minute so was looking for some quick guidence to help me in my early stages.

Ive installed the SEO toolbar which i think you suggested jeremy and have typed in the keyword 'poker forum' (big keyword i know) just so that i could compare my stuff against theirs i.e link report | meta tags | robots | keyword Density... and from what i was checking i had just as good if not better stats than some of their sites... i just dont understand why i cant get onto the top 100 pages or so for that term

I mean do these stats look ok, heres a quick view at just my link report:

Total Links: 181
Internal: 157
External: 24
Followed External: 24
No Follow: 30
Secure: 0

I know this is one of the MANY things, but ive checked into a few others aswell such as all the META tags/ descriptions, looked at keyword density and i see no difference in theirs and my site

If you can't afford to hire full-on SEO consulting, consider buying Aaron Wall's SEO ebook. It covers the basics pretty well. Another option is Planet Ocean's ebook.

As far as whether or not your link report goes, number of backlinks is meaningless. You can have 10,000 backlinks and not rank for a thing. You have to consider what pages you're getting backlinks from and what kind of anchor text they're using to link to you.

As far as metatags go, as long your target keywords are included in the metatags, you're all set.

Keyword density doesn't mean much either. Just make sure that you're using your keyword phrase in your on-page elements (body text, header text, alt text, etc.) Repetition and emphasis seem to help, but there's no magic percentage.

Ive heard a lot about this Aaron Wall SEO eBook, i might have to have a little look over that.

I was really interested in Brad Callens article which we have here at PAw that covered some basics pretty well although he was kind of promoting his SEO elite which i was thinking of buying also.

Il read the eBook of Aaron Wall and then see if i need to make my life easier with the SEO elite.

Getting on the first page for "poker forum" would be valuable, even more so if you were in the top 5.

Being in the top 100 however isn't going to give you any value. I actually have a site that is somewhere around page 5 or 6 in google for the term poker forum, and it only gets around 5 -10 hits a month for that term. There are around 4900-5000 searches each month (according to overture keyword tool) for poker forum.

What percentage of those searchers actually make it to the 2nd page, not too mention past that.

I am not as savvy as some of my SEO mentors but I do know if you focus on the fundamentals, the rest will fall into place.

Fundamentals = Quality Content, More Quality Content, and good backlinks with proper anchor text from other quality sites.

Randy brings up a good point about links that many new people to SEO don't think about. I would take 1 link from an authority site or on a similar page from a site that ranks well for my specific term than hundreds of random links from various sites.

For example, and this would never happen. If tightpoker gave you a link on their party poker bonus code page for one of your party poker keywords you were going for, you would probably move up in the SERPS much higher from this one link versus 400 directory and random blog links.
