another page dropped alot

i have a page on my pr2 website www.dominateonlinepoker.com that is called dominateonlinepoker.com/poker-software with page title Poker Software. This page is linked from alle pages on dominateonlinepoker.com with anchor text Poker Software. It has the word poker software in all h1 headers ,in alt tags and lots of time in the body text. I have exchanged lots of links with this anchor text and also placed lots of articles with backlinks to this page, again with this anchor text.

Now i used to be on page 3/4 on google, but now im completely out. Why has google punished me? I havent done any spamming or anything else...

Maybe you guys can help explain this

p.s. i also had another page www.getpokerebook.com that did pretty well on terms as poker course , poker system (page 1/2) but now is completely gone from google, i dont understand a thing of this..

Not sure if it matters, but looking at your page source for "get poker book"- I don't see any meta description or keywords listed anywhere..

The other page you mentioned is a PR3, so dunno what your seeing there..

Every use of the term 'Poker Software' is a link to the page you are already on. First of all, remove all those links, so the term is seen as integral to the page, not a "vote" for the page.

I don't like that title at all. Your title has needless breaks in it, like an arrow and vertical line. And says:

Free Online Poker Software, E-Books, Bankroll, Articles, Videos, Tools

Which is nearly the same on every other page on your site. You should not be repeating the same keywords over and over again on every page. You risk Google seeing it as duplicate content.

"Poker Software and Tools - Free Software for Poker Players" would be a much better title imho.

Your site also has canocalization issues which can lower your rankings.

Also, in this line:

The Poker Software and Poker Calculators we are about to present:

You bold words which are telling the search engines these words are important: The, and, we, are,about,to,present. Why?

One last thing, don't make your copy sound so robotic. "poker software" repeated 100 times does not sound natural, try to mix it up, ex.

"blah blah are some other benefits of this software. Poker players have been utilizing these free tools and software programs.."

I'm no SEO expert, but I've heard that if you get too many links in a short period of time with the exact same anchor text, Google is going to get suspicious. I don't know what you should do to get back into Google, but I'm guessing you should just be patient and mix up your anchor text in the future.

Also, all those links pointing to the same page probably arent helping. From what I inferred from SEO, Google just likes well-made sites that provide good content. So why would a visitor want to click on a link to be taken to the exact same page? It just going to be a manipulation of what you think Google will like to help you rank better for that term, and they probably arent going to like you trying to do that.

Just think of things from Google's perspective, that's what I do. You obviously want links, but you wan't to keep them in right places and make them as natural as possible. Just make your pages as natural as possible, it looks like you have read SEO tips and are trying to force things far too much.

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. You need to remove all 984,000 links on that page to itself.

I didn't want to repeat what anyone else said but everyone brings up good points. It's really no wonder that page doesn't rank, it has tons of problems. You should apply the advice in this thread to the rest of your site because I took a look and the same issues come up over and over again.

Do you see what you just said you have done "lots" of everything for that page, just ease up on it. Would your site make sense to someone visiting it or just confuse the hell out of them.


I would suggest re-writing the page because one it sounds really spammy as is, and two half of your article is a duplicate of this article. Not sure if your submitting your own articles to directories that you use on your site (if so stop and submitt original stuff) or if you just picked that up and thought it would be a good piece to add. either way just rewrite the page, remove the links and leave it alone.
