Default buy content link, does it make sense

Hi

does it make sense to buy a couple of content links if you have a PR2 site? Or the question might be better this way - how many contents links would you need to get PR3 or PR4?

My side had PR3 but somehow it now only has PR2...

How much would you pay for a content link on a PR3, PR4 or PR5 page?

Thanks for your advice!

Unfortunately, there's no set formula for achieving a higher page rank. What we do know is that search engines view links as votes for your site. Thus, the more links you get, the higher authority search engines give you.

Buying links can be a good way to boost traffic and get quality anchored links. I would consider buying links as a part of my overall link-building plan. You can also get links from,
  • Forums
  • Commenting on other blogs
  • Directories (free and paid)
  • Article submissions
  • Social bookmarking sites
The market for link buying goes up and down like anything else. I would just look at several past link sales and get a general idea about what I wanted to pay for PR3, 4, 5 etc.

It's not just about "how many" links you need. It's more about the quality of those links. Is the page your getting a link from related to the page you are linking too? What is the PR of the linking page? How often is your keyword in the linking page, where in the page is your link placed (begining, middle, end), how is the link setup(in content, footer, etc). All of these factors affect the quality of the link. What's the actual formula? That's a Google secret.

The point is you can acheive better results with 10 high quality links than you would with 100 crappy links. So never think quantity. Always think quality.

Having in-content link is one factor of the overall quality, or alue of the link, but it's not the only one.

So the best thing i can do is actually find a couple of high quality link partners. And try to get content links there.

Does the langauge have an effect? I'm running a german website, is it better to go for german link partners or doesn't it matter?

I really appreciate your support, as I can see that my traffic has suffered a little since my page rank went from 3 to 2.

I'm pretty sure language matters, but to what degree I odn't know. Let's say your targetted key string is "große Poker Firma" and you're linking from an english page that talks about large poker companies. How many times will the words "große" or "Firma" show up in the page you are linking from?

Just once: From your link. So Google may not realize that the content of this page is very related to the content of your german page you are linking too.

Had you linked from a german page that talks about large poker companies, then your keywords woudl likely pop up all over the page. So the link value is better because Google sees clearly that both pages are related.

It doesn't mean you can't link from English pages. That still counts for something. But your link value would be better from same langauge page.

Again, link value is based on multiple factors, and we're only discussing one.

Anyway, I'm no SEO expert. I just read SEO articles and this is my understannding of how it works in this context.
