directory with back links

I have recently put on my site a directory where I share backlinks with other gambling sites, I also added my site to some free directories and edited meta tags for each page on my site.

Now my site lost rankings on google.si (slovenian google) big time I was on the 1st page before, now my site is on 8th page

I was told that the reason for that could be that links on my sites are linking to sites that "are probably less then reputable" and that this is very very bad for SEO on my site, the solution is to remove all the links immediately.

I just started learning SEO so I am really a beginner. I came here to ask fellow pap members for second opinion and if there is something else wrong with things I have done, for which I thought will improve my SEO.

Just glancing at your directory of links, I don't see anything crazy. I wouldn't change the directory.

It looks like you're using PAS. I just started using them too, and didn't notice until later that all the pages have the same Title tag. I see that you've changed most now - good. You will probably see a lot of ups and downs until Google gets everything updated.

You can check how your pages are indexed by searching for site:slorakeback.com

I noticed this page being indexed: http://www.slorakeback.com/extra/slo...ator_flash.swf
which I'm sure causes a problem for search spiders. I'd block it with a robots.txt file and then have it removed from Google through their Webmaster Tools.

You can check how your pages are indexed by searching for site:slorakeback.com in Google.

Robots.txt
User-agent: *
Disallow: /extra/sloodds/poker_calculator_flash.swf

-Create a text file called robots.txt
-Copy and paste what Mark wrote into the file

-Save
-Upload to the root folder of your site

Sometimes, your sites drop for no aparent reason and you simply have to wait it out and you'll often bounce back after a few weeks. The google algorithm isn't perfect.
