Domain strategy for a network of sites

Hi there,
I'm about to set up a few sites with pretty similar topics. Let's say it's a network of poker related sites: poker, casino and betting.
The domains should look like that:
pokeronlineresource.com, casinoonlineresource.com and bettingonlineresource.com
So, I'd have to put in work in all of those domains. And as the domains all end with "onlineresource.com" I thought it's a good idea to work only with onlineresource.com and with subdomains that it looks like that:
poker.onlineresource.com, casino.onlineresource.com and betting.onlineresource.com.
Then I can focus on onlineresource.com and profit more than working on all three domains. Or am I totally wrong? What do you think about that?

PS: Those domains are just examples but I think you get the point.

I think you should use seperate domains.

I always opt for that when setting up a network of sites.

The advantage I see of going with seperate domains is that you can maximize your link value from site to site. This assumes you use seperate host for each site, or different C-class IP hosting. The disadvantage is to be able to find domain names that are solid, easy to remember, linked and available for all site categories.

I'd go with separate domains as well for a few reasons.

-Resale Value typically more.

-More options for links sales, etc.

-If one messes up they all don't.

Also it isn't much more work to use separate domains.
