I've went dofollow to encourage commenting on a few
blogs, I tried commentluv on 4flush, but the plugin didn't work right, so 4flush's links are once again nofollow. I pass juice via siggys on the site, but at some point may block the links if the images get to big or the links get to be to many.
It's not spam in the case of a dofollow
blog, dofollow bloggers have chosen to follow comment links, we're a bit more vigalent in our approval process but the general opinion is that the websites of our readers are of interest to our readers.
Since WP is nofollow by default, a dofollow
blog is asking you to trade the link for comment.. since the nofollow tag was google's idea, im sure they have a different opinion.
