TAG clouds generating dead links - more harm than good?

I have installed a TAG cloud module on my site which generates random words from the content. Unfortunately since my server does not have the necessary requirements for the TAG cloud module to be fully functional, I now have a lot of dead 404 links. So it seems the TAG cloud module is doing more harm than good and should be turned off?

Catfish in your wordpress ( assuming this is what your using) you should have it checked to noindex tags/archives/categories..you dont want to have your content published 2 or more times. If its not wordpress then find a hack for the cms to do it. You dont need to index your tags

You tags clouds should be used for users, although I personally think its a complete waste and makes a page look very unorganized. If your using them for interlinking I would toss that idea and either interlink your pages manually on your own or look for a hack that does this for you based on tags that dont get indexed. eg the wordpress related plugin...it does a great job of doing this without causing the duplicate content issues
