how do i just get my website on a search engine period. I don't even care right now about the ranking. can anyone help me here?

You need a link from a page already indexed by SE -
Look for good google pagerank og a site with a lot of dynamic content, they get crawled more often by SE.

BTW you could add a link under your profile....

Submit it at google. Same as being crawled but takes longer.

If you don't have any links pointing at your site, Google won't list you whether you submit or not. You're a lot better off spending your time building links than submitting to search engines.
