Cloaking

I found today that cloaking your site may have its advantages, but may also have disadvantages. Cloaking is when you exclude some folders or files from "all site operations," correct?

If anybody knows anything more about it... be it good or bad... then please post the information.

Which URL is banned?
I.E the live site or the URL that is sending the traffic?

They would only ban the domain that is cloaking, not the one that the cloaked site is redircting too. If they did that some competitor could simply cloak a few domains to your site to get it banned.

So a redirect with no cloaking doesnt pose a problem for the directing site?

Yeah,

As I understand it a redirect should be fine.

The problem with cloaking (per google) is that you can get restricted sites accepted into AdWords. I ran into this recently. I was trying to figure the whole thing out, and couldn't understand that one of the ads looked like a blatant 888.com ad. I guess it was cloaking - sending a benign site to google and me to the real casino.
